Fluffy Duck Cocktail with Warninks Advocaat

This is a cosy take on the rum-based version of the classic fluffy duck cocktail. Here white rum has been replaced with Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum and it makes a particularly delicious libation for cooler months. Either serve in a martini glass just as it is or serve it in a balloon glass and top with lemonade.

Ingredients

  • 30 ml Warninks advocaat
  • 30 ml Spiced rum Sailor Jerry is a great option
  • 30 ml Single cream half and half
  • 15 ml Triple sec
  • 75 ml Lemonade optional

Instructions

  • 1.    Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  • Secure the lid and shake vigorously for 30 seconds.
  • Decide how to serve it:
  • Either strain it into a martini glass.
  • Or strain it into a balloon glass and top it with the lemonade.
  • However you serve it, do add a couple of maraschino cocktail cherries, or otehr fancy garnish to capitalise on the fun nature of this drink.

Notes

  • It is still possible to make this Fluffy Duck drink even if you do not own a cocktail shaker. Try using a large glass jar with a screw top lid or at a push stir the advocaat, rum, triple sec, cream and a handful of ice together in a jug for 30 seconds.
  • Always measure your ingredients carefully as most cocktails, including this one, are a carefully balanced blend of flavours, alcohol strength and non-alcoholic ingredients. You don’t need fancy bar measurers – a set of digital kitchen scales will do the job.
  • Ensure your lemonade is well chilled too – the Fluffy Duck cocktail should always be served chilled rather than lukewarm.
  • On that note, try to chill your glassware before pouring the drinks too.
  • When made with Warninks advocaat, this drink is entirely suitable for vegetarians. Warninks advocaat contains only egg yolks, brandy, sugar and vanilla. There are no unexpected extra ingredients to be wary of.
